Mental Health Resources: Pathways to Help for Persons and Families in Crisis

Sadly, mental illness is a common affliction and can be devastating to the suffering person and to his/her loved ones. When a family member or friend exhibits traits of mental illness what can you do to help? This interactive seminar follows a hypothetical young woman with mental health issues as she navigates through a hospital emergency room, the criminal justice system and a civil commitment courtroom. Our panel of experts will provide thoughtful insights about how our hospitals and courts work with and treat people with mental illness. Moderator: Hon. Thomas R.
