Advanced Excel for Litigators

Microsoft Excel is an important tool for the modern legal practice. It can assist in supervising document reviews, calculating damages, managing client information, and many other everyday tasks. Because so many business clients use Excel, spreadsheets often become evidence in their own right, and attorneys need to be able to review and understand Excel documents. In this session we will cover: -Mastering the Filter Tool to Analyze Data -The IF Function, Missing Information, and Sorting -Finding Hidden Data and Advanced Searching -Mastering VLOOKUP -Special Tools to Reconcile Lists Trainer: Ben J. Kusmin Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf LLP, New York City, NY: Author of the Excel Esquire Blog Ben is a veteran of epic privilege log battles, mammoth document reviews, complex redaction projects, dueling accounting experts, and all manner of discovery motion practice. Ben developed the Excel Esquire series of workshops to give other attorneys the skill and confidence they need to successfully navigate in Excel. He has presented for the New York State Bar Association, the Connecticut Attorney General’s office, the Harris County Law Library (Houston), The Innocence Project, LatinoJustice, African Services Committee, and other organizations, and has been interviewed for Above the Law and the Digital Detectives podcast. This will be a hands on training session. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops and to follow along with the instructor. Class size is limited to 18. A limited number of loaner laptops with Wi-Fi are available. You must reserve a loaner laptop at registration. 3 IL PR-MCLE Credit, subject to approval
