Chicago Bar Association
Free Speech and Peaceable Assembly Meet Hate Crimes, Demonstrations and Terrorism

Issues surrounding freedom of speech and expression have been hot button topics in a variety of areas lately and it seems everyone has a different opinion. The speakers will discuss issues ranging from the impact of social media on our First Amendment rights (has Facebook become the gatekeeper?) to disciplinary actions being taken against employees for expressing their opinions (was the Google employee wrongfully terminated for releasing a controversial memo or was Google within their rights to let him go?) to demonstrations on college campuses (University of Virginia, Berkeley) and more.
